RQMS aims to facilitate the implementation of radiation protection in a range of clinical settings, encouraging good practice and supporting development of quality management systems.

RQMS supplies document control and ISAS Accreditation support in addition to working directly with RPAs and MPEs to deliver radiation protection survey and quality assurance reports for a range of client practices.

Group & on-site bespoke training

Training can be offered as a part of a scheduled group session arranged at locations around the UK or as a bespoke on-site course supplied specifically for an employer. The following training sessions have been kept current throughout regulation changes and have been very well received.

Medical industry

• Radiographer QC test development and training sessions are available for hospital imaging services in line with the current IPEM guidelines
• Radiographer RPS training sessions are available for hospital imaging services
• IRR 2017 and IR(ME)R 2017 training sessions are available for those employers needing to update their knowledge of the new regulations
• IR(ME)R 2017 training sessions are available for referrers
• RPS training sessions are available for small employers such as chiropractic clinics with a single x-ray unit
• Operator update sessions are available for hospitals
• Bespoke training for small employers based on the employer requirements and equipment base

Dental industry

Dental update courses can be provided bespoke, based on the needs of the employer. Options range from short basic radiation protection training courses for all staff to detailed Dental RPS training or IR(ME)R17 update courses

Veterinary industry

Veterinary RPS training courses are offered around the UK every year in association with Liz Beckmann and Niall Monaghan at TBM training.

Document Services.

Quality Management

RQMS Ltd has seven years of experience providing Quality Management document services in both larger NHS Trusts and smaller private hospitals. This work included ISO 9001 document control standards. Experienced support can be provided for various aspects of document development, quality management and ISAS Accreditation including:

• Detailed development of the required Employer's procedures for IR(ME)R17
• Re-development of a Trust's Radiation Protection structure for clinical directors
• Document development for imaging services ranging from wide reaching operational procedures to written radiologist guidelines for particular clinical procedures
• Detailed compliance auditing

ISAS Accreditation

For any employer considering the ISAS process the commitment to document re-development and collation in line with the ISAS standards can be daunting. RQMS can provide an initial gap analysis, any required 1-2-1 support for line managers or clinical staff during document development and a review of the quality management processes being used, in line with the ISAS requirements.

Radiation Protection File

For any small clinic employer it can be difficult to achieve the expected level of documentation expected for compliance with the regulations. Assistance can be provided to develop a bespoke set of IRMER and / or radiation safety policy documents meeting all the needs of both the employer and regulations, as a part of review of any radiation protection file. Documents that can be included are:

H&S for all employers working with ionising radiation

• Radiation Safety Policy
• Radiation Risk Assessment - for review by the RPA
• Local Rules - for review by the RPA
• Associated written SOPs for Radiography, PPE and dosimetry.

Patient safety for employers working with medical exposures also requires:

• DRL auditing
• Clinical auditing solutions for IRMER
• Equipment records including servicing, QC testing and inventories
